I’m Juliette Dupré, a dancer from New Orleans, Louisiana. I began training at ten years old with summers at Ballet Austin Academy, The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet, and Boston Ballet School. I was fortunate along the way to receive scholarships from The Rock School, Apetrei Dancenter, Mercedes-Benz and other benefactors.
As a student, I performed solo and principal roles with then Regional Dance America Honor Company Ballet Apetrei and began performing freelance at 16. My path to teaching began under Kelly Apetrei in 1998 assisting with pre-ballet, eventually teaching advanced students and rehearsing the student company. After high school, I declined an apprenticeship and scholarships due to injury and went on to obtain a Bachelors with honors from Tulane University and a Masters from The New School.
I’ve taught at many ballet schools including as an Artist in Residence at New Orleans Ballet Association. I’ve also adjudicated scholarship and youth company auditions. I am a certified pointe shoe fitter through The Perfect Pointe since 2011, trained at the USA IBC teacher program in 2014, and became an ABT® Certified Teacher by completing the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive successfully for Pre-Primary to Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
